Bollywood is well-known for its romantic allure be it 90s era or 2016. It never fails you to offer fresh love stories. Let’s see what Bollywood has offered us till now:
1) Two States:
Two states is a fresh romantic story of an eminent writer of India Chetan Bhagat and his wife, two IIM students who fall in love with each other and struggle for their marriage approval from their parents as they belong to different caste. Eventually they get successful and both the parents get agree. The last wedding scene of the movie is amazing when Alia Bhatt comes in a South Indian red saree. However, happiness on Arjun’s face makes the moment more real and beautiful.
2) Wake up Sid:
It is the story of a young college going guy (Ranbir Kapoor) who eventually falls in love with a 27 year old Bengali girl and all his life gets change. Wake up Sid is the most calm and genuine movie which tells the reality of life when you don’t behave responsible you can lose many things in your life including your parents’ love. But the secret love that builds up between the two gets disclose at the end of the movie through a beautiful article written by Konkana Sen in her magazine.
3) Jab We Met:
If you ask someone, how can two strangers get fall in love with each other in a train journey? Then I would say Jab we met is the perfect answer. It is the most entertaining, funny yet emotional movie. The flawless chemistry between Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor is a must watch. They try to get to Kareena’s boyfriend in whole movie but ultimately develop feelings for each other. The last love confession is the best romantic scene of the movie.
4) Hum Saath Saath Hain:
Salman Khan and Sonali Bendre in Hum Sath Sath Hain is the most memorable and sweetest on screen couple in Bollywood. The shy pair in the movie is immeasurably romantic. In various scenes where Salman tries to express his love for Sonali but she keeps on shying because of her introvert nature is lovely. The most romantic scene in the movie is when they take a ride on an elephant with other kids.
5) Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein:
Do you believe in love at first sight? No? Then you must watch this movie where Maddy (R Madhavan) fall in love with beautiful Reena Malhotra (Diya Mirza) immediately after he sees her. He somehow manages to come close to her by lying that he is a person whom she is getting married to and impersonates her (to be) life partner. The song zara zara in the movie is the most romantic song ever and the chemistry between the two is outstanding.
Vivah is the most romantic and beautiful movie that doesn’t get much appreciation from the audience. It is a story of a simple and an introvert girl (Amrita Rao) who born and brought up in a small town. But her selfless qualities bring her a perfect and a rich groom (Shahid Kapoor) who loves her on the very first day he sees her. Both are about to get married but an incident ruins everything. In spite of knowing the reality Shahid accepts Amrita and puts vermilion on her scalp.
7) Ye Jawani Hai Deewani:
Ye jawani hai deewani is a fresh love story of Naina and Bunny who become good friends on a Manali trip and eventually fall for each other. The movie indicates that even tough circumstances cannot fade the true feelings. The most romantic scene in the movie is when Bunny acknowledges his love for Naina and tells her to keep holding him for a while so that he doesn’t have to face the reality as he has to leave for Paris the very next day.
8) Hum Aapke Hai Koun:
Hum aapke hai koun is a sweet love story of Prem (Salman Khan) and Nisha (Madhuri Dixit) which starts when Prem’s brother gets married to Nisha’s sister. Their cute moments include all small fights and arguments have been beautifully shown in the movie. The scene where Madhuri waits for Salman to come home from the office is adorable. Both eat dinner with each other and then spend some quality time near pool and obviously in kitchen.
9) Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Kuch Kuch hota hai is a beautiful love story of two best friends (Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol) who initially got detached because the guy has feelings for someone else (Rani Mukherjee). But as we know if the love is true even god cannot separate you. The last scene of the movie is very emotional yet so romantic when Shah Rukh and Kajol confess their love for each other and finally hug to console their long time wretchedness.
10) Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge:
Well who on earth has not watched this movie. The most romantic Jodi of DDLJ in the history of Bollywood has taken the hearts of millions. The movie has shown an unmatched chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan (Raj) and Kajol (Simran). There are many scenes in the movie which are still ruling the romantic heads in the world. One such scene is when Raj comes all the way from London to Punjab to confess her love for Simran.
